Throughout my career, I have seen how empowering it can be to provide a safe and “soft place to land” as individuals explore their values, beliefs, and life experiences. I provide individual and family therapy for ages 12 and older. My specialties include anxiety, depression, self-esteem concerns, life transitions, and relationship challenges, particularly between parents and children. I especially enjoy working with highly sensitive persons (HSP), drawing on specialized training and deep appreciation for their unique strengths and perspectives. I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Brainspotting, integrating evidence-based approaches that support healing and resilience. I am also an approved HSP-knowledgeable therapist through Elaine Aron.
As a native of Charlotte, I have witnessed our community change and develop over time. In that same spirit, I welcome the opportunity to support individuals as they navigate transitions and experience thoughtful, lasting change.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Auburn University and my Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from Winthrop University. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in North Carolina and provide telehealth services for South Carolina residents.
I am a provider for Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Meritain Health, and MedCost. While I am not a provider for UnitedHealthcare, Carawell Counseling can provide a superbill for submission toward out-of-network benefits.
I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), an evidence-based approach that combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with trauma-sensitive interventions. As a rostered clinician in TF-CBT, I focus on helping clients overcome emotional and behavioral difficulties resulting from traumatic experiences, fostering resilience and recovery. I am also trained in the Modular Approach to Therapy for those dealing with anxiety, depression, and trauma.
As a native of Charlotte, I deeply connect to this vibrant community. In my free time, you might find me practicing yoga, exploring new destinations, or enjoying moments with family, friends, and my beloved cat. These personal experiences enrich my understanding of life’s complexities and the importance of a supportive network.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Auburn University and earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from Winthrop University in 2021. My academic and professional journey has equipped me with the skills and empathy needed to make a positive impact in the lives of high school students and young women I work with.
I look forward to the opportunity to support you in discovering your strengths and navigating your path to a brighter future.
