Francis Medearis

MSW, LCSWA

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate, I am passionate about creating a safe and welcoming space where you can feel truly seen, heard, and supported. I believe that every person’s story is unique, and I am honored to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing and growth. My approach is grounded in respect, cultural sensitivity, and a genuine curiosity about what makes you.

I specialize in working with adolescents and adults across all age groups, helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with compassion and understanding. Whether you’re facing struggles with anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, trauma, grief, anger, eating disorders, or other concerns, I am here to help. My goal is to partner with you in a way that feels empowering, validating, and tailored to your needs.

Therapy is a deeply personal process, and I believe it should reflect your unique strengths, goals, and experiences. My therapeutic style is client-centered and integrative, blending evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also bring a relational touch to my work, using warmth, authenticity, and the occasional lighthearted moment to build a meaningful connection and normalize your experiences.

As a Charlotte native, I feel a strong connection to this community and take pride in serving it. My educational journey began with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in Sociology and Human Development Family Studies from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!). I then earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where I honed my skills and deepened my commitment to this work.

When I’m not in the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, competing in music trivia, and exploring my newfound love of tennis. These passions remind me of the importance of balance and self-care, lessons I strive to pass on to my clients.

Whether you’re a teen navigating life’s complexity or an adult seeking clarity and connection, I am committed to meeting you where you are. Together, we’ll create a path that honors your story, celebrates your resilience, and moves you closer to the life you envision. If this approach resonates with you, I would be honored to walk this journey with you.
